Kristin Fischer is set to join CNN as CNN's Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. She is a reporter covering everything including NASA and the Space Force and commercial space companies, to the emergence of Space Tourism. Kristin was born into the sector of space, as the daughter and granddaughter of NASA astronauts. For the last five years, she has reported on space policy during the Biden and Trump Administrations in FOX News. Kristin also reported on impeachment hearings for President Trump, the 2020 Presidential campaign as well as efforts of two administrations in order to combat the Coronavirus pandemic. The reporter also went on numerous journeys with the president and vice president and was a part of a classified visit to Afghanistan together with the former president Donald Trump. Prior to being hired by the channel in 2015, Kristin spent nearly a decade advancing through the local news channels which included Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she was awarded the Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the city's CBS affiliate. Kristin's expertise as a camerawoman helped her establish Field Mouse Films which specialized in making documentaries for corporate customers such as Uber Hotels & Resorts, and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin earned a bachelors in Science in journalism from Boston University. She currently lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband and their three year old daughter.
